Connecticut
will come into this one with heavy hearts as one of their players,
Jasper Howard, was stabbed and killed at a party last week. Coach Randy
Edsall has had a rough week, including helping his team through this trying time. In week 8's match-up, Connecticut will face West Virginia,
and it will be a tough game to focus on with the events that took place
for these kids this past week.
West
Virginia is 5-0 against UConn all time, and are playing their first
ranked game this season. The point spread shows the Mountaineers as
favorites at home by a margin of 7.5 points at
BoDog Sportsbook. This game will play out in
either of these two ways: UConn will play a distracted football game,
and get beaten badly by WVU, or UConn will get a measure of revenge on
the field for their fallen teammate.
I
would certainly lean on the latter of the two, as this team was talked
to by their coach and were told that they had already lost one young
player to a tragedy, and that UConn didn't need another loss due to a
revenge mindset. These players have mixed emotions and will give it
their all in this game on Saturday. Again I fail to trust the ranked
teams laying points to a non-ranked club. The revenge from a loss
factor is in play, showing UConn getting beaten last season to these
Mountaineers by a margin of 22 points. Another key factor in winning
this game against the spread is that the public, again, favors the
Mountaineers.

BoDog Sportsbook. They have the NCAAF odds up for every remaining game on the week 8 college football schedule.
UConn players will be wearing stickers on their helmets to remember and
honor Jasper this weekend. Look for the Huskies to fight in this game,
and even win this outright. The emotion is just too high, and they will
get through this game and especially cover the point spread of 7.5
points.
