Many plan to vote for American Idol’s Casey James tonight, but is it because he’s a good singer or because he looks good without his shirt on?

Casey James is the elder statesman from the remaining top 16 American Idol contestants, and he’s also been one of the favorites to become the eventual winner since the betting odds were released at BoDog Sportsbook after the audition phase. 

James makes a great bet considering that he’s heavily voted on by the women voters who were possibly swayed by the fact that Kara convinced him to remove his shirt after his audition was over.  He’s also shown some solid vocal chops, but the voting on James has slowed down in recent weeks after his singing abilities just weren’t up to snub with some of the other remaining top 16 contestants.

James was a 5.5/1 underdog heading into tonight’s American Idol episode, and a $20 wager will pay off over $100 if he becomes the season 9 winner.  Casey definitely has the backing of the female voters, but he’ll need to up his performance level from last week’s rendition of “I Don’t Want to Be” that left judge Simon Cowell saying that “you were just another rock star”.

Kara Diguardi has flirted nonstop with Casey James since she first laid eyes on the 27-year old Fort Worth native, but her “praise” of “I’m still a fan” during last week’s episode had many speculating that the fake love affair might finally be winding to an end.
