UFC 100

UFC 100 is still a few days away but betting odds are up for the main event with Georges St. Pierre’s belt on the line.

Georges “Rush” St. Pierre (18-2) is the 170 pound champion and he’s a decent sized favorite on the betting odds as he looks to defend his belt against Thiago “Pitbull” Alves (16-3) at UFC 100.

Bookmaker.com has the UFC 100 betting odds favoring the current champion at a line of -290 and there seems to be a nice amount of value in going with the underdog in this welterweight championship bout.

St. Pierre is one of the most rounded fighters the UFC has ever seen and possesses top-notch striking, wrestling, and submissions.

“Rush” has an 11-1 record in the UFC since 2005 and has avenged both of his career losses in recent years while many consider St. Pierre to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today.

His only weakness appears to be getting caught with a big punch and not getting any time to recover which is how he lost his championship belt at UFC 69 to Ultimate Fighter winner Matt Serra.

Alves is a fierce striker who has beaten some incredible wrestlers in recent fights and with 4 of his last 5 UFC brawls being won by way of knockout.  Among his KO or TKO victims are Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan, and Chris Lytle so this guy has not beaten up on nobodies.

He’s also shown a very strong chin with his only knockout loss coming after an up-kick from title contender Jon Fitch and Alves’ wrestling has improved by leaps and bounds since Fitch put him on his back for most of that fight.

Alves has the knockout power to give St. Pierre trouble and if the champion can’t get the challenger to the ground, this one could be a great underdog UFC bet. Get these UFC 100 betting odds at Bookmaker.com.
