We’ve handicapped the Strikeforce betting odds and are ready to release predictions between Shane Del Rosario and Lolohea Mahe.

Shane Del Rosario is one of the most touted heavyweight prospects in the fight game and he’ll put his perfect 9-0 record on the line against Lolohea Mahe in tonight’s main event at Strikeforce Challengers 9.  The Strikeforce odds currently have Del Rosario as the large -325 betting favorite at SBGGlobal Sportsbook and we hope that our fight predictions will help you make the correct wager.

If you plan to bet on the Strikeforce fight card tonight, make sure to do it at SBGGlobal Sportsbook.  They have some of the best odds out there for fight fans and are great at letting people bet on smaller events that other books might not offer betting lines on.  Their website is promoting a special that includes up to 260% in total bonuses and we recommend getting an account with them before the start time of tonight’s Strikeforce card.

Lolohea Mahe has a 4-1-1 MMA record and is coming off his first career loss – a TKO (Punches) finish at the hands of Lavar Johnson at Strikeforce Challengers 7.  The heavy-handed Hawaiian is a boxer/brawler with a good chin but his lack of experience against top-level competition might hurt him here.  Mahe previously fought to a draw with the tough Ultimate Fighter contestant Scott Junk back in 2009.

Shane Del Rosario has won 7 of his 9 fights by strikes with his most recent victory against Brandon Cash at Strikeforce Challengers 4 coming by way of omoplata.  Del Rosario is the first ever US WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai Champion and is going to be tough to deal with if this fight stays standing.

Strikeforce Predictions for Shane Del Rosario vs Lolohea Mahe:

Mahe has never shown tremendous wrestling although he did take the fight to the ground against Johnson.  Del Rosario is quite a bit more talented in the striking department but guys like Chris Leben have proven that a heavy hitter with a good chin have a chance in any fight.

That being said, Shane Del Rosario is the real deal and this is a fight that is set up for him to join the big leagues in the Strikeforce organization.  Mahe is a tough guy but this is a horrible stylistic matchup for him and I don’t think he has much to offer Del Rosario beyond a puncher’s chance.  Look for Del Rosario to control the action early and often before he eventually overwhelms a tiring Mahe with strikes in either the 1st or 2nd round.
