Standup: Amir Sodallah is fairly accomplished in Muay Thai and gets the edge here as Hendricks is still somewhat new to the striking game. Amir is fairly similar to Forrest Griffin in that he is extremely technical but I still question whether he has the knockout power to end a fight but he still gets the edge in the standup.
Submissions: Sodallah is only a white belt in jiu jitsu but he still gets the nod here based on his impressive Sambo background which incorporates submissions. Hendricks is once again too new to the fight game (he started in 2007) to be as advanced as Sodallah.
Wrestling: Hendricks gets the big nod here as a 2-time Division 1 National Champion and a 4-time Division 1 All-American. Sodallah is crafty but he doesn’t have a chance of keeping up with Hendricks when it comes to pure wrestling ability.
UFC 101 betting picks: Amir is a scrapper with great heart and should do well in the standup but he likely doesn’t have the knockout power to put Hendricks down. I see the underdog using his wrestling to avoid submissions and blanket the Ultimate fighter winner so Hendricks is one of our UFC 101 betting picks.
