San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers play for the second time this season as the teams meet in the AFC Divisional playoffs on Sunday.

The first meeting was a weird one as the Steelers won only 11-10 in a game they dominated statistically.  "We moved the ball, but we sputtered in the red zone," Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said. "We can't afford to do that. We can't turn the ball over. The big thing is we can drive up and down the field, but we have to be able to put the ball in when we get down there."

The Steelers also incorrectly had a game ending touchdown overturned, costing Pittsburgh bettors a lot of money. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Steelers at Home.

The Chargers are coming off a 23-17 overtime win against Indianapolis last week in the Wild Card game that continued their recent success.

San Diego has won their last five games overall, averaging 34.4 points per game.

The Chargers believe they are a much better team than they were a couple of months ago when they lost to the Steelers. "As I said before the Indianapolis game, I believe we're a lot better team now than we were six weeks ago or eight weeks ago. So that's going to be a part of it.” Head coach Norv Turner said, “You're in the playoffs and you're playing a team that's got home-field advantage and is an outstanding team. We're going to have to be at our best."

San Diego has only won twice in their last 15 visits to Pittsburgh but both of those victories were in the playoffs.

To win on Sunday the Chargers will have to find a way to score against the league’s top defense. San Diego only had 66 yards rushing in the last game against the Steelers.

Quarterback Phillip Rivers also didn’t play well, passing for only 164 yards with two interceptions.  The Chargers probably will have to rely upon Rivers again since running back LaDainian Tomlinson is nursing an injury.

On the other side of the ball, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is ready to go after getting an extra week to recover from a concussion he suffered in the Steelers regular season finale.

Roethlisberger was 31-of-41 for 308 yards in the game against San Diego earlier this season.

Here are the NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Chargers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 playoff games. The Chargers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog. The Chargers are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.
