The Dark Knight Rises Poster revealed

Set to hit theaters on July 20, 2012, The Dark Knight Rises is already drawing attention worldwide.

The release of its official poster as drawn everybody's eyes on this upcoming blockbuster.

Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) returns with Michael Caine (Alfred, the trusted butler), Gary Oldman (Police Commissioner James Gordon) and Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox, CEO of Wayne Enterprises). Tom Hardy will play the film's lead villain Bane and Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle.

In the absence of known facts about the plot, rumors are swirling on the film's final cast of characters and plot.

One nagging Dark Knight Rises buzz is that Talia al Ghul could play as the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, the cat's whiskered evil dude played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins.

That character has been both lover and enemy of Bruce Wayne in her comic book incarnation, indicating that if she plays the role she will be a similarly ambiguously powerful spirit to Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman from Batman Returns.

According to ReelzChannel Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) has joined the cast as a mysterious character known only as 'Nixon.' Modine joins Tom Conti, Alon Aboutboul and Joey King in the latest spate of casting news. No news yet on which characters they will be playing, but if it is newsworthy we'll be back with more details.

The shooting of The Dark Knight Rises has started in London, United Kingdom. According to current rumours the cast is shooting inside a building currently.

Nothing leaked so far on the storyline of The Dark Knight Rises, which means fans will have to look for clues through the introduction of characters. According to rumorville the character of Catwoman supposedly will be an ally of Batman and that the character of Bane is in for a villain role.

As some of the cast members have gone on to tell this time, the film will give fans something exceptionally entertaining. Actor Josh Stewart (The Collector) has joined the cast of The Dark Knight Rises, according to Variety.

The 34-year-old star joins the much-anticipated film's cast in an unspecified role — which is pretty much par for the course when it comes to Nolan's wildly successful Batman franchise. The Dark Knight Rises will find Bale's Batman facing off against his first female opponent.

A week after Hardy's casting was announced Deadline New York reported that Nolan had begun meeting actresses in regard to two female parts he planned to cast. A possible new love interest to replace the deceased Rachel Dawes, and a villainess.
