Choctaw Casinos and Mercury Gaming Group Under FBI Scrutiny

Colorful Choctaw Indians Chief Beasley Denson confirmed FBI agents searched tribal records and records pertaining to Mercury Gaming Group.
Beleaguered Beasley Denson is sailing through rough waters. He was first defeated by Phyliss J. Anderson in the runoff election for chief of the Choctaw tribe. The election results were nullified by the Tribal Council, citing election irregularities.
A week after the contested runoff election, FBI agents showed up at Indian tribe’s casino complex, the Pearl River Resort. Federal Agents searched the Indian tribe records and those of Atlanta based Mercury Gaming Group, which manages Pearl River Resort and the Bok Homa casino on behalf of the Choctaw tribe.
According to media sources, the Mercury Gaming Group's management contract with The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The issue over transparency of the allegedly investigated contract were one of Phyliss J. Anderson arguments during the runoff election campaign.
President of four casinos, including Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL, Mercury CEO Doug Pattison currently earns in excess of $200,000 a month for his work on behalf of the Choctaw Casinos.
Ranked one of the 10 largest private employers in the state of Mississippi, the Indian Choctaw tribe employs approximately 6,000 people. Its largest business is tied to the three gaming enterprises managed by Mercury Gaming Group.
