2011 King's Bishop Stakes: Morning Line Odds

King's Bishop Morning Line Odds

Morning line odds have just been released in the 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes.

Saratoga Race Course has just released morning line betting odds for the August 27th King’s Bishop Stakes, and it’s not much of a surprise at all to see 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Uncle Mo leading the way at 9-5.  That being said, there are some other terrific horses in the 2011 King’s Bishop field that can pull the upset and we’ll take a quick look at the morning line odds and post positions for all of the entries.

2011 King’s Bishop Stakes - Morning Line Odds & Post Positions:

1 – Flashpoint, 5-2

2 – Caleb’s Posse, 9-2

3 – Runflatout, 8-1

4 – Dominus, 6-1

5 – Poseidon’s Warrior, 20-1

6 – Justin Phillip, 15-1

7 – Uncle Mo, 9-5

8 – Cool Blue Red Hot, 12-1

2011 King’s Bishop Stakes – Thoughts on the Morning Line Odds:

The first thing that caught my attention when I saw the post positions was that Flashpoint is going to be extremely tough to defeat in the 2011 King’s Bishop.  The pace-setting speedster drew the inside spot and I think there is still value left at those 5-2 odds.  The 7-furlong distance should ensure that he doesn’t tire, and he’ll definitely be included in my King’s Bishop horse racing picks that will come out later in the week.  Stay tuned for whether I use him to win or as one of the three horses in my trifecta box picks.

Uncle Mo is the best horse in the field but he’s coming off a long layoff because of injury.  His spot in the starting gate is okay but it’s not tremendous, and I’ll be interested to see how he does.  He’s the best horse in the King’s Bishop Stakes field but there are question marks that will likely dim his chances of coming out on top here.

I’m glad that the Saratoga odds makers made Dominus at 6-1 because it is in line with what I thought the horse should be listed at.  He’s been receiving plenty of hype for the King’s Bishop Stakes and I just didn’t see it.  Odds of 3-1 or so would have continued to confuse me as to why the media has been talking the 3-year-old up so much in recent days.

Stay tuned for our betting picks in the 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes and we’d also like to point out that our racebook comparison tool is up and ready.  You can find a great bonus online and there simply isn’t any reason to bet on the King’s Bishop Stakes or the Travers Stakes at the track this weekend when you could add some free money into the amount you were planning on wagering.
