2011 King's Bishop Stakes: Post Positions & Thoughts

2011 King's Bishop Stakes Post Positions

Post positions have just been announced for the 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.

The 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes post positions are sure to make for some interesting morning line odds in this August 27th race, and you can catch the action live on NBC with a post time of roughly 5:00 PM ET.  Make sure to check back for our horse racing picks in the 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes later in the week, and we’d also like to point out the racebook comparison tool for those looking to find the biggest bonus for their wagering needs.

1 – Flashpoint

2 – Caleb’s Posse

3 – Runflatout

4 – Dominus

5 – Poseidon’s Warrior

6 – Justin Phillip

7 – Uncle Mo

8 – Cool Blue Red Hot

2011 King's Bishop Stakes - Thoughts on the Post Positions:

We’ll make sure to update everyone on the King’s Bishop Stakes’ morning line odds when they are released, but it will be a fairly large surprise if anyone other than 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Uncle Mo is favored.  Ultimately I’d like to see him not so far out in the post positions, but he’s the best horse in the field by a fairly large margin and it will be interesting to see how he does after his long injury layoff.

Flashpoint has a great chance to pull an upset here and there isn’t a single horse that fared better in the King’s Bishop post positions draw.  This likely pace setter should love the inside spot in the starting gate and I could definitely see an upset brewing here if Uncle Mo is at anything but 100%.

Cool Blue Red Hot has been one of my favorite 3-year-olds for a while now but the far outside spot isn’t going to do him any favors.  That being said, I still consider him to be a horse that has a ton of potential and I’ll definitely be considering him for my trifecta box horse racing picks in the 2011 King’s Bishop Stakes.
