It’s time to make picks on the winner and the trifecta in the 2011 Woodbine Mile.

2011 Woodbine Mile – Tips and Thoughts:

Court Vision won the Woodbine Mile last year but won’t be included in our picks for 2011.  He’s looked poor lately and is facing a stronger field this time around.  The 10-1 odds on the defending champ just aren’t worth it with him starting from the far outside in a talented group of horses.

Side Glance and Turallure are both considered to be top 3 according to the Woodbine Mile odds, but we will be tossing both of them.  Turallure has looked good recently but I’m not sure his closing style is fit for this pace, while Side Glance is a solid runner who just hasn’t impressed me enough to use him over some other horses.

Grand Adventure is sure to be a Woodbine Mile favorite after winning his first 3 career races at Woodbine, but his recent form (no wins in last 6 starts at Woodbine) doesn’t instill confidence that he’ll be able to compete in this talented field.

2011 Woodbine Mile Picks – Winner:

Dance And Dance

Courageous Cat is the sure thing that we know, barring unforeseen bad luck, will finish in the top 3.  Dance And Dance has a ton of talent and is ready for a big improvement, while Forte Dei Marmi’s potential to finish in the top 3 just doesn’t match up with the long 15-1 odds being offered.  Ultimately I feel that this will be a close race with Dance And Dance finding a way to beat his much more accomplished foes.
