2011 Pure Michigan 400 Preview: Time, Odds, & NASCAR Predictions
Written by Caitlin Patton

Let’s preview the 2011 Pure Michigan 400 with racing odds and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series predictions.
The 2011 Pure Michigan 400 is set for Sunday, August 21st, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will be ran at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Start time of the Pure Michigan 400 is set for 1:15 PM ET and our NASCAR preview will discuss the betting odds and make some predictions. ESPN will be televising the Pure Michigan 400 and we hope that our readers out there will be making some easy money alongside us on this race.
Kevin Harvick took home the Pure Michigan 400 victory last year (it was then called the CARFAX 400), while Brian Vickers was the 2009 winner. In 2008 it was Carl Edwards taking home the win (it was then called the 3M Performance 400) with Kurt Busch winning it in 2007. That means that over the last 4 years a Chevrolet, Toyota, Ford, and Dodge have all won here, so we aren’t going to see much of a betting edge as far as the vehicle make goes.
Edwards and Jimmie Johnson are your 2011 Pure Michigan 400 favorites, followed closely by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, and Tony Stewart. Greg Biffle won in 2004 (it was then called the GFS Marketplace 400), and he is available at 20-1 odds if you think the veteran can pull the upset this weekend.
None of the premier NASCAR drivers have been winning Sprint Cup races lately and I am making my predictions on an underdog once again pulling the upset. Joey Logano (38-1 odds) and Paul Menard (49-1 odds) have both been running well and should be in the mix, and those are the two bets I’ll be making in the Pure Michigan 400 this year. They aren’t marquee names but everything seems wide open recently so you might as well try to hit the huge payday on Sunday.
2011 Pure Michigan 400 – NASCAR Sprint Cup Odds:
Carl Edwards +725
Jimmie Johnson +725
Denny Hamlin +850
