NIT Second Round

Missouri State take on Miami-Florida in the second round of the NIT.

 

Both teams are coming off nice wins in the first round as Missouri State took out Murray State while Miami routed Florida Atlantic.

 

Miami of Florida is - 4 point favorites at SBG Global.com and the total is sitting at 134

 

This will be the first-ever meeting between Missouri State and Miami.  The Bears come into the game at 26-8 while Miami is 20-14.  The Bears got 23 points from Jermaine Mallett as they outscored Murray State in their opening game of the NIT.  Five Missouri State players were in double figures in the win.  Missouri State is getting used to the postseason and they have done well under head coach Cuonzo Martin. The Bears won the CBI tournament last year so they are now 5-0 under Martin in the postseason. This will be the seventh time in history that Missouri State has played a team from the ACC. They are 2-4 in their previous six games vs. the ACC.

 

Miami got 23 points from Malcolm Grant and 20 rebounds from Reggie Johnson in their rout of Florida Atlantic in the first round.  Not many fans showed up for Miami’s opening round win but it should be a better crowd on Monday since this game is on ESPN. The Hurricanes are now 12-4 at home this college basketball season.
