Phoenix heats up for 2011 MLB All Star Game

Phoenix temperatures remain alarmingly high in preparation for the 2011 MLB All Star Game.

Although forecasters are not predicting a repeat of the record-breaking 118-degree Phoenix experienced on July 2, the National Weather Service expects 106 degrees when the first pitch is thrown Tuesday.

First MLB All Star game played in Arizona, the 82nd in-season exhibition game between the National League and the American League will be held at home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Chase Field in Phoenix, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011.

Thankfully for all those involved the Chase Field is one of the state of the art stadiums in the country, with a retractable roof and air conditioning so fans and players do not have to worry about the high temperatures during the summer months.

A number of last minute exclusions of MLB stars appear to stimulate critics talks about the MLB All Star Game alleged loss of its magic over the last few years.

Alex Rodriguez bowed out of the All-Star Game 2011, according to sources. ARod's retreat is probably related to some minor injury issues that Rodriguez has to his right knee. Rodriguez news followed 12 times All-Star Derek Jeter exclusion announced on Friday.
