Let’s preview the upcoming UFC 134 fight card while taking an early peak at the Rio betting odds.
The UFC hasn’t been to Brazil in many years but the world’s top mixed martial arts promotion is set to put on their 134 show in Rio on August 27th. UFC 134 will be held at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and this card has 3 amazing fights that could each headline a pay-per-view by their lonesome. Let’s preview the UFC 134 fight card and take a look at the betting odds available at various online sportsbooks. Make sure to check back later in the week because we’ll be releasing UFC 134 predictions on the 5 main card fights.
The main event at UFC 134 will be for the middleweight belt with champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva taking on top-contender Yushin “Thunder” Okami. Silva’s last loss was back in 2006 when he was disqualified for throwing an illegal kick against Okami, and the challenger has the wrestling and submission defense to give the champion fits.
Former UFC light heavyweight champions Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Forrest Griffin will meet up at 134. Griffin defeated Rua in a huge upset back at UFC 76 and will look to again shock the world in “Shogun’s” home country. Another great fight on the UFC 134 fight card pits former UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira against the up-and-coming American Brendan “The Hybrid” Schaub. Nogueira has lost 2 of his last 3 fights while Schaub has taken 4 straight since losing to Roy Nelson on the Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Finale card back in 2009.
