2011 College Football Win Totals – The Bets I’d Make
Auburn Tigers Over 6 Wins
Although the Tigers have lost a ton of talent from last year’s championship squad, games against Utah State, Florida Atlantic, and Samford will have them well on their way to beating this total. Home games against Mississippi State, Florida, and Ole Miss are definitely winnable, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Tigers pick up road wins against Georgia, Clemson, or Arkansas either.
Stanford Cardinals Under 9 Wins
Star quarterback Andrew Luck is back for another season but the offensive line that has been so kind to him is not looking nearly as strong. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh jumped ship to coach in the NFL and I just don’t see this team playing as well as the high expectations seem to expect. Stanford’s out of conference schedule isn’t too tough, but they could drop quite a few of their last 6 games (Washington, USC, Oregon State, Oregon, California, Notre Dame) after starting hot.
Nevada Wolf Pack Over 8 Wins
This team is putting in a new quarterback and will start slow with road losses to Oregon, Texas Tech, and Boise State, but that is where the tough games end. Nevada should still have a stellar running game and I don’t see them having many issues with road contests against San Jose State, New Mexico State, and Utah State. Playing at home should be enough to get the Wolf Pack past UNLV, New Mexico, Fresno State, Hawaii, Louisiana Tech, and Idaho, and that will total 9 wins.
