College Football Predictions: Oregon vs. Stanford Preview
Written by Jake Thompson
Saturday, 12 November 2011 01:24

We’ll preview the college football game between Oregon and Stanford with predictions on the score.
The #6 Oregon Ducks (8-1) and the #2 Stanford Cardinals (9-0) will play in the top game this week on the college football schedule, and we hope that our score predictions will help some people win money. The Oregon vs. Stanford game has a start time of 8:00 PM ET, and you can catch the college football action live on the ABC channel. The Oregon vs. Stanford odds at Legends Sportsbook currently have the home-team Cardinals as a 3.5-point favorite to go along with a total of 70.
Stanford has gone undefeated this season against the likes of San Jose State, Duke, Arizona, UCLA, Colorado, Washington State, Washington, USC, and Oregon State, but even more impressive is the fact that they’ve covered the point spread in every single game this season. The Cardinals score 48.2 points per game on 281.1 passing and 224.7 rushing yards, and it is nearly impossible to stop quarterback Andrew Luck (2424 yards, 71.3%, 26 TD, 5 INT) and his offensive teammates. Oregon has been outrushed just twice this season while going 1-1 and allowing an average of 30 points per game when it has happened.
Oregon lost 27-40 against LSU in their opener in a game they really should have won, but the Ducks have rebounded with 8 straight wins over Nevada, Missouri State, Arizona, California, Arizona State, Colorado, Washington State, and Washington. The Ducks average 46.0 points per game on 212.2 passing and 298.4 rushing yards each time out, and are also impossible to stop. Stanford’s defense only allows 78.9 rushing yards per game, but they’ve racked up those numbers mostly against inferior offenses.

The Ducks were a 52-31 winner last year as 6.5-point favorites, but Stanford won 51-42 in 2009 as 6.5-point underdogs in the last clash they were at home in this Pac-12 rivalry. Oregon vs. Stanford predictions for this year call for both teams to score a ton of points with the Ducks eventually taking control. Oregon will hand Stanford their first loss of the season thanks to a more consistent rushing attack, and I feel the Cardinals are a bit overrated right now despite being a legitimate top-10 team.
Oregon vs. Stanford Score Predictions:
Oregon 51
Stanford 45
