NCAA Tournament: Georgia vs. Washington

March Madness

Washington is a 5.5 point favorite with a total of 143.5 at SBG Global.com.

Isaiah Thomas and the 7th seeded Washington Huskies take on Trey Thompkins and the 10th seeded Georgia Bulldogs on Friday night in the NCAA Tournament. Thomas averaged 19.7 points and 10 assists per college basketball betting game as Washington won the Pac-10 tournament last week. He leads a Washington offense that was the third best in the nation.

Washington averaged 83.5 points per game this season and it is not only Thomas who can score.  Senior forward Matt Bryan-Amaning averages 15.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.  The Huskies will try and push the pace and run Georgia off the court.

Georgia has a very good player in Thompkins but they know that they will have to slow the pace to win against Thomas and the Huskies.  Georgia has a solid defense that allowed just 64.3 points per game this NCAA tournament season.

The one advantage for Georgia is their size. They have a good front line of Thompkins, Jeremy Price and Chris Barnes. The Bulldogs also have a good inside-outside combination with Thompkins on the inside and Travis Leslie on the outside.

The betting on this game has favored Washington as the Huskies are getting most of the action. Washington is a #7 seed but many people are picking them not only to win this game against Georgia but to upset #2 North Carolina in the next round.

Here are the betting stats for Friday’s game.  Neither Washington nor Georgia was that great against the spread this season as the Huskies were 13-15 ATS this season while Georgia was 15-15-1 ATS. The Bulldogs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog.

The Bulldogs are 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 Friday games. The Bulldogs are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games. The Bulldogs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. The Huskies are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. The Huskies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the SEC. The Huskies are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tournament games.

The Under is 6-1 in the Bulldogs last 7 non-conference games. The Under is 4-1 in the Bulldogs last 5 overall. The Under is 5-1 in the Huskies last 6 overall.
