NFL Predictions: Panthers vs. Bears Preview
Written by Jake Thompson

Score predictions are ready in our preview of Sunday’s NFL game between the Panthers and the Bears.
The Carolina Panthers (1-2) will head into Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears (1-2) on Sunday, and we’ll preview both NFC teams before making predictions on the final score. The Panthers vs. Bears game is set for 1:00 PM ET and Legends Sportsbook currently has Chicago as a 6.5-point favorite on the spread odds.
Chicago had little problem taking home a 23-6 road win in Carolina last year, while the Panthers grabbed a 20-17 home win in 2008. An interesting fact to note is that the wagering underdog has covered the point spread in all 4 head-to-head meetings between the Panthers and the Bears since 2005.
The Panthers have been playing some surprisingly good football with top draft pick Cam Newton (1012 yards, 59.8%, 4 TD, 4 INT) at quarterback, but the former Auburn star has been showing that he is a rookie in recent games. The turnovers are hurting his team and with Carolina rushing for only 84.0 yards a game, Newton will have to be sharp if he wants to beat a tough Bears’ defense playing on their home turf. Another tidbit to think about is that Newton isn’t used to the cold weather, and current conditions at Soldier Field show about 50 degrees with a wind of up to 20 miles per hour.
Chicago’s Jay Cutler (858 yards, 54.4%, 5 TD, 3 INT) has been hit far too many times this season, and protecting him will be a top priority if the Bears want to excel here. A big reason why Cutler is being hit so often is because Chicago has rushed for just 53.7 yards per game, and I expect the Bears to improve on that statistic in a big way here. The Panthers allow 4.6 yards per carry and are a very beatable defense.

All in all, our predictions will be for the Bears to put pressure on Newton and force turnovers throughout this game. Chicago should have a more balanced offense than they have been accustomed to in the first 3 games, and that will ultimately result in a one-sided blowout. Look for the Bears to dominate every facet of this game in an easy victory.
Panthers vs. Bears Score Predictions:
Panthers 13
Bears 30
