NFL Predictions: Rams vs. Giants Preview
Written by Jake Thompson
Monday, 19 September 2011 15:00

Our Rams vs. Giants NFL preview will make score predictions and explain how this game plays out.
The St. Louis Rams (0-1) are on the road for their Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants (0-1), and our preview will let everyone know what to expect when these teams kickoff at 8:30 PM ET. St. Louis last met up with New York back in 2008, with the Giants taking home a dominant 41-13 road victory as 9-point favorites on the spread.
New York opened up their season with a 14-28 road loss against the Washington Redskins, a game in which the Giants rushed for just 75 yards. Rex Grossman and company put up 258 passing yards but New York did a good job at stopping the run, allowing just 2.8 yards per carry. The Giants are expected to get defensive tackle Justin Tuck (neck) back for Monday night’s game, but defensive end Osi Umenyiora remains out with a knee injury.
The Rams played hard in their 13-31 opening week loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but ultimately they made too many mistakes to grab the win at home. St. Louis’ running game looked excellent with 154 yards on 5.9 per carry, but the Rams will be without top back Steven Jackson (quad) for the Giants game. Wide receiver Danny Amendola (arm) is out indefinitely, while quarterback Sam Bradford will suit up with a hand injury.
Legends Sportsbook has the Rams vs. Giants odds favoring New York at -7 with a total of 44. Close to 65% of tracked NFL bettors are taking the Giants and the spread has been bet up a point since debuting at -6. Although the Giants struggled to run the ball in their season opener, they’ll have much more success against a St. Louis defense that gave up 237 rushing yards on 7.6 yards per carry to the Eagles. That will, in turn, open up the passing lanes for Eli Manning and I expect the Giants to put up some points here. The Rams are going into a tough road environment with some key injuries to their offensive stars and might struggle to keep up with New York on the scoreboard. Predictions here call for the Rams to play hard but ultimately they’ll be coming up short against a motivated team that should be able to win by a large margin.
Rams vs. Giants Score Predictions:
Rams 17
Giants 31
