NFL Predictions: Seahawks vs. Rams Preview

Seahawks Rams

It’s time for some NFL predictions in our preview of Sunday’s game between the Seahawks and the Rams.

We’ve been winning a bit recently with our NFL predictions, and we’ll try to add another notch to the belt in Sunday’s clash between the Seattle Seahawks (3-6) and the St. Louis Rams (2-7).  Start time of the Seahawks vs. Rams game is set for 4:05 PM ET, and the matchup will be shown regionally on the FOX channel.  We’ll preview what both squads are good and bad at, and then put up predictions on what we believe will be the final score.

These NFC West rivals meet up at least twice every year and the Seahawks have covered the point spread in 7 of the last 8 head-to-head meetings.  The favorite has been a wagering winner in 6 of the last 8, and St. Louis is currently favored by 3 according to the point spread odds up at Legends Sportsbook.  4 of the past 5 games played between these rivals have gone under the total, and the line on this game is over or under 39.

Seahawks’ Offense vs. Rams’ Defense:

Seattle hasn’t passed or ran the ball all that effectively this season, and they are averaging just 16.0 points per game on the year.  The good news for them is that the Rams give up 150.7 rushing yards per game and the Seahawks have scored 23.7 points on average this year in the 3 tilts in which they’ve outrushed their opponents.  St. Louis has been playing better on that side of the ball lately, but it’s tough to figure out if it’s because of their weaker opposition or an actual improvement.

Rams’ Offense vs. Seahawks’ Defense:

The Rams have started a bit slow on offense and they learn the new scheme, but it is getting to the point in time where Sam Bradford (1587 yards, 55.3%, 4 TD, 4 INT) should start to master it.  Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd has been a bit help to their plans, and St. Louis is rushing for over 150 yards a game over their last 3 matchups.  Seattle’s defense has played decently this year but they’ve also been hurt a bit by their offense setting them up in poor field position.  Whoever wins this battle will determine the victor in the Seahawks vs. Rams game.

Seahawks vs. Rams Predictions:

I believe that both offenses will be able to find a rhythm and the total will go over.  As far as the correct way to bet on the point spread, I have to side with the Rams here.  They are at home and are one of the teams I’ve been waiting on to take a big jump forward.  St. Louis is at the point in their season where everything will start to click, and I’ll call for them to get a nice home win in a surprisingly exciting game.
