NFL Predictions: Steelers vs. Colts Preview

It’s time to preview the game between the Colts and the Steelers with predictions on the score.
The game may not have the luster that many were expecting before Peyton Manning went out with neck injuries, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made in today’s 8:20 PM ET game between the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) and the Indianapolis Colts (0-2). Close to 80% of tracked NFL bettors are taking Pittsburgh, and our Steelers vs. Colts preview will let everyone know if the majority is picking the correct side.
Kerry Collins (388 yards, 50.7%, 2 TD, 1 INT) has played decently in Manning’s leave, but his inability to convert drives into touchdowns once in enemy territory is really costing the Colts. Indianapolis lost 7-34 in Houston against the Texans to start the year before dropping a 19-27 game against the Cleveland Browns last time out. Although Collins is receiving the brunt of the criticism, it’s ultimately poor offensive line play and minimal help from the running game that are costing the Colts’ offense.
Pittsburgh embarrassed themselves a bit in their opening week 7-35 loss against the Baltimore Ravens, but things looked quite a bit better last time out as the Steelers bested the Seattle Seahawks 24-0. Center Maurkice Pouncey and guard Chris Kemoeatu are dinged but listed as probable, and that is good news for a Pittsburgh offense that has struggled on the line this year.
Legends Sportsbook opened up the odds with the Steelers favored by 12.5 and a total of 39.5, but there has been quite a bit of movement since. Currently, Pittsburgh is favored by 10.5 while the total sits at 39.5. Steelers vs. Colts predictions call for Collins and his Indianapolis teammates to finally figure out what they need to do to get some points on the board. Pittsburgh’s defense has been well below their normal standards this year and you have to believe the winless Colts will be motivated at home. The Steelers have enough of an offense to put up some points, but ultimately they are not playing consistently enough for me to back them with my hard earned money. I’m calling for a close game and think the point spread odds on the Colts are worth a wager.
