NFL Preseason Preview: Tennessee Titans vs. Seattle Seahawks

The week 1 NFL Preseason game between the Tennessee Titans and the Seattle Seahawks is the subject of our current preview.
The Tennessee Titans will hit the road on Saturday, August 11th to take on the Seattle Seahawks, and this is one of the few preseason games on the opening schedule that will be worth tuning into. We’ll get started here at 10:00 PM ET and the large amount of positional battles on both teams should ensure that we get plenty of effort from the regulars and the reserves.
Most other squads are taking it easy in their week 1 matchup, but these two squads simply can’t afford to sit back and run vanilla offenses in hopes of avoiding injuries. Seattle and Tennessee both need to find themselves a quarterback for the regular season, and you can bet that the opposing coaches will have both squads throwing.
Seattle has the newly acquired Matt Flynn as the most likely starter, although incumbent Tavaris Jackson is back to push him for the starting job. Seahawks’ draft pick Russell Wilson has been extremely impressive, and backup Josh Portis has plenty of raw potential as well. Tennessee is trying to decide between veteran Matt Hasselbeck and former 1st round drank pick Jake Locker at quarterback, while Rusty Smith and Nick Stephens will come in late to get some reps.
The Seahawks opened up as a 3-point favorite at Bookmaker Sportsbook but they have since been bet down to -2.5 at certain establishments. There has been plenty of movement on the total and it now sits as high as 36 after debuting at only 34 in Las Vegas. Tennessee coach Mike Munchak has had just one season to show his tendencies in the preseason, but his 3-1 record last year indicates that he does try to win these games. He is 1-0 in week 1, while Seattle coach Pete Carroll is just 3-5 over his career with the Seahawks but a perfect 2-0 in winning the very first game of the preseason.
Predictions here call for both teams to be moving the ball, but ultimately Seattle’s depth at quarterback will push them ahead of the victory in the 2nd half. I see plenty of late scoring for the Seahawks and would also recommend a preseason NFL bet on the total going over. These coaches will try to win and the players have a reason to be at their best, but Seattle simply has more quarterback depth and I see them carving up the Tennessee 3rd string defense.
Titans vs. Seahawks Predictions:
Titans 16
Seahawks 24
