UFC 128 Preview

UFC 128 on Saturday night is headlined by the bout between Jon Jones and Mauricio Rua.

There are a total of 12 fights on what should be an excellent card from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Jones vs. Rua

Rua is the champ but Jones is almost a 2-1 favorite in UFC odds.  Jones is the rising star in the UFC and not many people believe he can be stopped.  Rua has not fought in almost a year as he won at UFC 113.  Rarely in a marquee fight do you see a champion as the underdog but Rua is not considered a strong champion while Jones has been unstoppable.

Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland

This will be the UFC debut of Urijah Faber who is a huge favorite against Eddie Wineland.  Faber was the star of World Extreme Cagefighting for quite a while and now he gets his shot in the

UFC  . He will be taking on Eddie Wineland who most people have never heard of. Wineland has won four fights in a row and if he can stay on his feet he might have a chance.

Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus

This bout should be one-sided with Jim Miller coming out on top and the odds favor Miller by more than a 2-1 margin.

Nate Marquardt vs. Dan Miller

Marquardt is a big favorite in this fight against Dan Miller as most people don’t expect Miller to last long.

Mirko Filipovic vs. Brendan Schaub

Schaub will look to avoid the kicks of Filipovic and pound out a victory.
