UFC 130 Odds & Predictions
Written by Jake Thompson

UFC 130 is tonight and we are going to check out the betting odds and make some winning predictions.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (-285) vs. Matt “The Hammer” Hamill (+225)
Many are predicting Hamill to use his wrestling to beat “Rampage” like Rashad Evans did, but I don’t believe that “The Hammer” is on the same level. I’m calling for Jackson to get the 2nd round TKO after Hamill’s takedown attempts fail.
Roy “Big Country” Nelson (+105) vs. Frank Mir (-135)
This is one of the tougher fights on the UFC 130 card to call, but I think that Mir’s technical striking will be enough to get a hard fought decision against the always-tough “Big Country”.
Brian “All American” Stann (-155) vs. Jorge Santiago (+125)
Santiago is one of the most well-rounded fighters out there, but his chin has been the one thing that stops him from fighting for a championship. Stann is very large for the weight class, and I expect Santiago’s takedown attempts to fail which will lead to the “All American” getting the 2nd round knockout.
Rick “Horror” Story (+170) vs. Thiago “Pitbull” Alves (-210)
The smart bet here is to go with Story to take home the decision. Alves has been hit or miss when going up against strikers, and Story won’t try to strike with this guy. Look for a wrestling-controlled decision as Story neutralizes Alves’ terrific Muay Thai.
Travis Browne (-145) vs. Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve (+115)
Struve is a scrapper and seems to find ways to get in the win column, but this looks like a bad matchup for him. Browne has heavy hands and should be able to get the TKO if he can avoid Struve’s average takedown attempts.
Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (+100) vs. Miguel Torres (-130)
Johnson is a tough fighter to plan for, but ultimately I think that Torres’ vast ability of skills and superior reach will be enough to get the job done. We’ll call for a decision victory for the former champion.
Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch (+125) vs. Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove (-155)
Grove is another scrapper that finds ways to win fights that he seemingly should lose, and I think he’s crafty and tough enough to get a submission victory here. Boetsch has heavy hands and a nice submission game himself, but I’ve seen Grove win these types of fights too many times to go against him.
