Wach vs. McBride Fight Preview, Odds & Predictions

All eyes and hopes are on the possible upset in the fight featuring Wach vs. McBride for the WBC International Heavyweight title.

Predictions are difficult to establish when the iron fisted Irishman Kevin McBride is on the ring. However, there is one certainty; with the WBC International Heavyweight title at stake, we can expect a night of passionate boxing in the fight opposing the undefeated Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach vs. Kevin McBride.

The bout is set for 12-rounds at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on July 29th. The fight takes place for the vacant WBC International Heavyweight title; The victor will be in prime position for a terrific showdown with either of the Klitschko brothers.

Kevin McBride (35-9-1, 29 KOs) is the huge underdog, his odds to win currently sitting at +600. “I’m here to win,” says the man who ended Mike Tyson’s career six years ago. “I know I’m still the underdog like I was against Tyson, but I feel I have the punch that can be the equalizer against anyone in the world.”

In all honesty, Tyson's humiliating defeat remains McBride’s showpiece in what has otherwise been a pretty dull career in the heavyweight division. McBride has suffered six career losses by knockout to less than capable fighters.

On the other side of the ring, we find undefeated Polish heavyweight contender Mariusz Wach (24-0, 12 KO), currently huge favorite to win (-900). “This fight means a lot to me. It can open a lot of doors, or those doors could be closed,” Wach said. “I’ve spent the past three months putting in endless hours training. The plan is in place; I just hope he does not break my plans for the future.”

Wach last fought on February 19th in a knockout win over Jonathan Haggler. Trained by Juan and Carlos De Leon, Wach is known to have far better technical skills than McBride.

Let's go with the fight's predictions. Kevin McBride is confident he is going to win the title, the one he missed out after his epic victory on Tyson six years ago. “He’s worked real hard,” said McBride’s manager, Jerry Quinn. “He’s putting his heart and soul into this fight.” McBride is up against a true bulldozer, one who goes for the knockout victory. I'll go with the upset on this one. Good Luck!
